Welcome to the website for the Somers, Connecticut Republican Town Committee! We are pleased to have you visit with us. We hope to provide you with continuing information you can use, ponder over, and generally enjoy.
Somers was voted to be the 55th best place to live in the United States, according to Money Magazine. Our good schools, quality of life, and select housing stock all contribute to this rating, but we are not satisfied with being #55 – we want to add to our current success! And we will.
Somers is a Republican community. Here is why.
Somers Republicans believe in government being fiscally responsible, responsive to the needs of its citizens, but allowing each citizen to grow, prosper, and enjoy life in his or her own individual way.
We believe in equal rights and opportunities, and that each individual should be respected and honored for his or her individual ability, dignity, and freedom. Somers Republicans believe that each individual has certain unalienable rights, but that responsibility is inherent with possessing these rights.
We believe that the most effective, responsible and responsive government is local government, the government that is closest to the people.
